It has been quite some time since I last posted. We once shared new perspectives on current topics and found alternative ways to think about them. Let’s renew our relationships and get back at that!

There are many reasons for my absence, but these two are most important:

First, I needed to focus more on my family relationships. Doing this meant stepping away from those things, regardless of importance to me, that took time away from being with my family. One might think that doing a blog like this doesn’t command much time but those of you who have read my previous postings know I spend a lot of time researching what I write about. Following that research, I spend even more time really looking inside myself and landing on what it all means to me.

Second, after securing a job with a company and working there for eight months, they offered me a professional position doing what I had done for close to 25 years prior to incarceration. This was a significant change in life for me. Giving back to this company for all they had done for me meant truly committing myself to the work I had been given. This meant many more than 40 hours each week. Add to that the commute of one hour each way and most days were 12 to 13 hours long. By the time I arrived home I was exhausted and had little left for anything other than my family.

What has changed?

I recently retired and I have time once again to commit to this site. My goal is to provide interesting and alternative background for current topics in the news or on my mind. My method will remain the same as in the past; I’ll do the research, look deep inside, and present what I hope is a thoughtful writing that will pique your interest.

My time with this blog had always been rewarding and I hope it will be again. I have a long list of topics to write on and some are quite controversial like limiting rights, politicization of all things, and how legal harm is visited upon people. I hope those who once followed me will drop by again and I hope those who are new to this site will find something of interest that touches their heart.

If you have a topic you would like to see a posting on, please drop a note and if I think it is of interest to a wider audience, I will do my best to get something out there. Also, share your thoughts and reactions to the posts in the comments area. Don’t we all grow through understanding others’ deeper feelings?

I am planning to post the weekend of April 6, 2024. I have two topics I am anxious to write about so I need to settle on one – I am forcing myself to choose quickly. Once chosen, it takes about a week to do the research. Please be patient and check back.

I look forward to reestablishing old relationships and getting a few new ones started.
