Joy In The Tribulation: Always & Again

In the last posting, Joy in the Tribulation: Always, I referred to a song titled simply, “joy” by King & Country – I hope you enjoyed listening to it! I commented on how the singer is seeking joy; making a choice between status quo and experiencing joy in life. In the end he chooses joy.

Today’s posting starts with taking a trip in the “way-back-machine” to August 27, 2017, when I posted the song “Bring the Rain” by MercyMe (Rain). I think it’s a perfect second step on what will be a three stop journey. We’re chasing an understanding, through the creativity of awesome song writers and amazingly talented performers, of what we have to go through to find the Joy In The Tribulation. Step two, “Bring the Rain,” explains that in our darkest times we can find ways to praise God.

To summarize our journey thus far we see that:

Step 1> is to choose joy; a conscious choice made with full faith.

Step 2> is to understand that difficult times often come down like rain and we should, and can, seek ways to find the joy therein.

Step 3> You’ll have to wait till next posting for the conclusion of our journey into “joy.”

Enjoy MercyMe’s “Bring the Rain.” For those of you that are experiencing a downpour, or have in your past, I hope this song will inspire in you a new perspective of what you can find in all those drops of darkness.

I can count a million times
People asking me how I
Can praise You with all that I’ve gone through
The question just amazes me
Can circumstances possibly
Change who I forever am in You
Maybe since my life was changed
Long before these rainy days
It’s never really ever crossed my mind
To turn my back on you, oh Lord
My only shelter from the storm
But instead I draw closer through these times
So I pray

Bring me joy, bring me peace
Bring the chance to be free
Bring me anything that brings You glory
And I know there’ll be days
When this life brings me pain
But if that’s what it takes to praise You
Jesus, bring the rain
I am Yours regardless of
The dark clouds that may loom above
Because You are much greater than my pain
You who made a way for me
By suffering Your destiny
So tell me what’s a little rain
So I pray
Holy, holy, holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
